07 Nov: Connecticut’s Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana serves up tasty pies at new Plantation location

There’s nothing better than a good pizza … except for a great pizza. Plantation just got a new pizzeria all the way from Connecticut that diehards say is the best in the entire country. Deco’s Alex Miranda, who likes his topped with Italian sausage, has the story.

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is a big deal. In the pizza world, they’re like A-list celebrities, so when Pepe’s expanded into Plantation, it was my journalistic duty to investigate the menu … or at least that’s what I told my boss.

Shyra Johnson: Agent of Change

04 Nov: Shyra Johnson: Agent of Change

Shyra Johnson had a clear goal in mind: “I always knew I wanted my own sports agency by the time I was 30.”

To the average person, this may sound like a lofty aspiration. But Johnson has never settled for average. She bested this goal by nine years when, in early 2022, the FAU graduate student passed the National Basketball Players Association Agent Certification Exam at 21, becoming the youngest certified sports agent in history. PR Firm in Florida - Case Study on College-School Partnerships

03 Nov: Case Study on College-School Partnerships

Another dual-enrollment program, Post University’s High School Academy, offers eight-week accelerated online classes, 16-week classes taught in high schools by specially trained high-school instructors, and 16-week classes on the Post campus in Waterbury, Conn.

The academy, in its current form, is only a few years old, but it has achieved impressive growth, in part because Covid lockdowns drew students to its small 15-student classes. In 2019 it had 10 students from four partner schools; now it has 350 students from 27 partner schools, 24 in Connecticut, one in Massachusetts and two in Texas, says Chad McGuire, Post’s director of the academy and continuing education. The academy is in talks with New York City public schools as well.
