The O&G team helped bring the Freedom Tower’s historic reopening to a national audience with a powerful feature produced by NBC News.

The piece first aired on NBC News Now and later ran on NBC Nightly News with José Díaz-Balart, one of the most widely viewed evening news programs in the country.

The segment highlights the tower’s legacy as the “Ellis Island of the South” and captures the emotional significance of its return after a two-year renovation. NBC correspondent George Solis interviewed Cuban exiles, whose personal stories helped anchor the narrative.

Our team supported NBC’s producers throughout the entire process. Following months of pitching and story development, we were on site during the centennial ribbon-cutting ceremony to help identify and coordinate interview participants in real time. This ensured NBC had the right voices to tell an authentic and meaningful story during the building’s official reopening for its 100th anniversary.

NBC News Now is the network’s 24-hour streaming channel and reaches tens of millions of viewers each month across major platforms, while NBCNews.com draws more than 34 million unique visitors monthly.

The placement further expanded the visibility of the Freedom Tower centennial celebration while underscoring its role as a national symbol of hope, resilience and migration.
