Mattamy Homes has partnered with national nonprofit Helping a Hero to build a specially adapted home for Army Corporal Sue Crutchfield, a double amputee and decorated war hero.
Located in the Kenley neighborhood of Tradition, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is designed to meet Crutchfield’s needs and is expected to be completed by September.
Crutchfield, who was severely wounded during a mission in Afghanistan, has been awarded the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts. A ceremonial groundbreaking took place on May 9, with Crutchfield, local students, city officials, and the Mattamy team in attendance. The project reflects Mattamy’s continued commitment to supporting wounded veterans and providing a new beginning in Port St. Lucie.
