Mattamy Homes broke ground on a residential community in Cooper City after purchasing vacant land from a church.
The Toronto-based homebuilder will construct 30 single-family homes on the 9.4-acre site at 8701 Sheridan St. Homes in Sienna will range from 2,349 to 4,395 square feet. Pricing will start in the $800,000s when Mattamy Homes officially launches sales in early 2023.
The first homes should be completed in late spring 2023, the developer said. The community will include a playground and a lake.
Mattamy Homes purchased the property for $2.23 million in June. It’s located just east of Pine Island Road, near the Monterra neighborhood.
“Sienna is Mattamy Homes’ first development in the Fort Lauderdale area, which we believe is a highly desirable and active destination for homebuyers, and one that will nicely complement our other markets in southeast Florida,” said Dan Grosswald, president of Mattamy’s Southeast Florida Division.
