Chefs and restaurants in South Florida are gearing up to offer gourmands a foodie fix with live streaming and video channels with cooking tuturials, designed specifically for their culinary fans who can’t leave home because of COVID-19.
So here is a list of what’s available now, but keep coming back this week because we’ve heard that a few high profile names in the restaurant biz are gearing up some projects right now.

Chef Nolan-Ryan is accustomed to giving culinary instruction since her eatery (free delivery throughout Fort Laudedale) is, as you can tell from the title, a cooking school. Going forward those classes will be limited in size with lots of added protocols such as gloves and hand sanitization. This culinary laboratory headed up by the Restaurant People has launched “TRP Live” twice a week with cooking demonstrations and easy-meal recipes from chef Lyndsey Waters as well as a “Rooftop Happy Hour,” where DJ Ricky Fatts will spin live tunes as master mixologists from the lounge @Rooftop1WLO demonstrate a few classic cocktails to create at home. The cooking demonstrations are Mondays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. The virtual happy hour is Fridays at 6:40 p.m. Going forward, “TRP Live” will spotlight local chefs, bartenders and other industry partners and celebrities. In addition to TRP Taste and Rooftop, the Restaurant People operate Boatyard, YOLO, O Lounge, Township, Java and Jam, Spatch Grilled Peri-Peri Chicken, Tarpon River Brewing and S3 (Sun, Surf and Sand).
