ORLANDO, Fla. — Upon entering Medtech Institute’s new Orlando campus, students are experiencing some “Wow!” moments. It’s all about becoming more “Extraordinary.”
“It’s an environment that lets students feel special and is meant to stimulate and encourage them to become even more successful in their studies,” says Medtech President and CEO John L. Hopkins. “We are committed to providing an extraordinary student experience and that begins with the setting in which they learn.”
Although Medtech moved into a new setting less than two years ago, enrollment has been so strong the school already has outgrown its “old” campus. As a result, Medtech Institute has moved from 2000 N. Alafaya Trail to 1900 N. Alafaya Trail, Suite 100, Orlando, FL 32826.
Just a few-second walk from its former location, the campus offers a new world of educational opportunities and an exceptional learning experience in nearly 10,000 square feet of added space. The learning environment at the new campus expands by more than 60 percent, going from six classrooms to 10 and adding a third laboratory room. Medtech’s Student Resources area more than doubles from 568 square feet to 1,381 square feet.
In total, the school is going from 15,500 square feet to nearly 24,000 square feet (23,889) to accommodate its increased enrollment and new program offerings.
Besides providing more office and workspaces for administration, faculty and staff, students now have all new classrooms and the campus has the space to accommodate added new healthcare technology.
In addition to Allied Health and Nursing, Medtech Institute in Orlando offers Career Online High School diploma and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for individuals who did not complete high school or wish to enhance their language skills. The campus also has become an approved Central Florida Pearson VUE Testing Center, which bills itself as the world’s leading test center network. Medtech Institute is the only school in the Orlando area where students can find this unique combination of educational tools.
“Our enrollment growth and need to expand the campus demonstrate the growing demand across Central Florida for nurses and allied healthcare professionals,” said Regional Vice President-Operations and Orlando Executive director Brenda Green. “We’re attracting students who live outside Orlando and surrounding communities, including some who have driven an hour or more just to take classes at Medtech Institute.”
Medtech Institute in Orlando is located at 1900 North Alafaya Trail, Suite 100. The campus offers programs in Academic Associates Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, and English as a Second Language (ESL), in addition to continuing education courses such as Nurse Aide Training, Electronic Health Records Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and IV Therapy Technician.
