Zyscovich Architects Associate Cheryl H. Jacobs was appointed Natural Resources Committee Chair during the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) goals conference in Miami June 4 and 5. Approximately 1,000 of South Florida’s top businesses leaders participated in the gathering, which was organized to explore ways of leading the local economy out from the recession.
As Chair of the Natural Resources Committee, Jacobs will expand her involvement in Chamber-supported sustainability efforts. A member of the GMCC Board of Directors, she served as Chair of the Workforce Housing Committee and is the organization’s Go Green Task Force Founding Chair.
“It is an honor to help formulate resource protection initiatives for the Chamber, which has emerged as one of South Florida’s leading sustainability advocates,” Jacobs said.
Director of Community Relations for Zyscovich Architects, Jacobs has been involved in marketing professional services for more than 20 years. Named an Associate at the firm in 2004, she represents Zyscovich in a full range of community activities in Miami and coordinates outreach programs for the firm’s other offices.
Jacobs is actively involved in a number of professional and community-based organizations. In addition to the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, she serves on the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association’s Green Hospitality Committee, is the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council Executive Committee Vice Chair for Programs and a member of ULI’s Sustainability Committee, is a Trustee Member of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, a Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places Trustee, and serves on the Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA), among other organizational participation.
Jacobs has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Leadership, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Leadership, and Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce Leadership programs.
