The Grilled Cheese Truck Gears Up for National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Things are about to get a lot cheesier for The Grilled Cheese Truck.
April is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month and The Grilled Cheese Truck plans to melt LA’s heart with a dawn-to-dusk Grilled Cheese Melt-a-thon on April 1. The Melt-a-thon, being staged from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., will offer Angelinos a chance to satisfy their grilled cheese urges whenever they want throughout the day.
Continuing the celebration, The Grilled Cheese Truck will be “Melting” on April 12 (not coincidentally National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day) at the LA Grilled Cheese Invitational — billed as “the largest, craziest, and most exciting Grilled Cheese cooking contest in the country.” The Grilled Cheese Truck won the “People’s Choice” in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The event is being held at Los Angeles Center Studios downtown.
And, if that’s not enough cheese, The Grilled Cheese Truck has been invited to serve up its array of delicious melts at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival the weekends of April 11-13 and April 18-20. Music may meet its match in The Cheesy Mac & Rib and other signature Grilled Cheese Truck melts.
“We’ve bitten off a huge commitment for April, but National Grilled Cheese Month comes just once a year. This is our time to celebrate!” exclaims The Grilled Cheese Truck’s founder and creative culinary officer and director David Danhi, aka ‘The Big Cheese.’ “Besides, we love what we do… and people love our melts. It’s a marriage made in heaven.”
Danhi has worked in the restaurant and food industry for more than 30 years. His melts have been recognized as some of the best grilled cheese creations in the country. After participating in 2009’s 7th annual Los Angeles Grilled Cheese Invitational as a “fun” adventure, Danhi recognized the demand for unique grilled cheese sandwiches.
The Grilled Cheese Truck currently operates 13 food trucks in Southern California and Arizona, serving creative sandwiches that are widely popular and have evolved into America’s “comfort food of choice.” The spring menu includes such longtime favorites as The Cheesy Mac & Rib, Plain and Simple Melt, Three Cheese Melt and Cheesy Mac Melt, along with a Sweet Sriracha Chicken Melt, Goat Cheese Melt, Pretzel Melt, Roast Brie Melt, S’Mores Melt, and Cheesycake Melt.
The menu also features a variety of crusts, savory and sweet additions, and such sides as cups or shots of tomato soup, cup of mac & cheese, tater tots, homemade Bread and Butter pickle chips (yes, pun intended), and daily dipping sauces.
Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., The Grilled Cheese Truck, Inc. is an entrepreneurial “emerging growth” company with a brand and menu that are popular nationwide. A fast-growing, early-mover in the gourmet food truck industry, its mission to target military veterans attracted former supreme commander of NATO Gen. (ret.) Wesley Clark, who serves as a Company director and is actively involved in supervising the outreach to and training of veteran franchisees to ensure there’s a solid support system for job growth.
Believed to be the first publicly held, fully reporting, gourmet food truck in America and possibly the first grilled cheese food truck franchise opportunity, The Grilled Cheese Truck is among the early first growth companies actively seeking accredited investors under the new JOBS Act and qualifies as an Emerging Growth Company as defined by the JOBS Act and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
