WATERBURY, Conn. – The Federal Government recently made important changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process. To assist students who will be attending college in fall 2017 with their aid applications, Post University® will hold a FAFSA Completion Workshop from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th.

Financial Aid professionals from Post University will be available to assist students and their families with the 2017/18 federal student aid application. Students will be able to work on their FAFSA online in one of Post’s computer labs, under the direction and with the guidance of the Financial Aid representatives.

The workshop is being held in Hess Hall on the Post University campus – 800 Country Club Road in Waterbury. Parking will be available in the University’s North Lot.

The session is offered at no charge to all members of the community…no matter what college or university they are planning to attend. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their student. It’s a welcome opportunity for everyone needing assistance to correctly complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

“It’s a good idea for all college-bound students to submit a FAFSA to have their eligibility for federal aid determined, or in case there’s a change in their financial situation,” said Post University Vice President of Student Finance Sharon Sweeney. “With changes to the process this year, it will be especially important to complete the application early so we’re offering this workshop as a community service.”

Everyone planning to attend the workshop should bring their 2015 federal income tax return so they can complete their aid application on the spot with help from one of Post’s Financial Aid specialists.

FAFSA Completion Workshop space is limited. Attendees should RSVP online at https://postfafsaworkshop.eventbrite.com. For more information, contact Joseph Newman at 203.591.5620 / jnewman@post.edu.
