Post University® Prepares Next Generation of CPAs for Career Success
Education Provider Adds CPA Track to Online Master of Science in Accounting Program
WATERBURY, Conn. – Due to a shortage of experienced accounting professionals, the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) reports demand for CPAs is very strong – and likely will remain that way in the foreseeable future. With that in mind, Post University® in Waterbury, Conn., has added a CPA Track to its online Master of Science in Accounting degree program.
Through the respective Malcolm Baldrige School of Business Accounting Department, Post University is addressing a growing need for higher level expertise and accounting proficiency at businesses throughout Connecticut and across the nation by including CPA exam preparation as part of its online MS in Accounting CPA Track program.
“Our online Master of Science in Accounting CPA Track is the next step for accounting students, graduates, or working adults who want to become successful accountants,” said Post University President Donald W. Mroz, Ph.D. “It is of particular interest because of the CPA exam prep we offer as an integral part of the program.”
CPA licensure is an important consideration for accounting students because a growing number of firms are looking to hire accountants who are licensure ready – meaning those with 150 credit hours from an accredited university who have passed the Uniform CPA Exam. A CPA license also typically leads to career success through quicker, higher-level promotions, along with opening the door to a variety of specialized careers, including business and management consulting, international financial reporting, tax advisory services, auditing and information technology, among others.
The CPA licensure exam is especially rigorous; typically, only a small number of people pass it on their first attempt. Through its online Master of Science in Accounting CPA Track program, Post University helps students by providing them with an additional tool in preparation for taking the exam and earning their CPA license.
“A primary reason for adding the CPA exam prep was to help our students be successful. Offering CPA labs enhances one of our key missions,” said Master of Science in Accounting Academic Program Manager Alisa Hunt, Ph.D., CPA. “Another reason is that more and more accounting firms want to hire ‘licensure-ready.’ Our CPA exam prep is a strong step toward meeting that demand.”
Post University’s MS Accounting CPA Track curriculum focuses on high-level, big-picture thinking and strategies that enable graduates to succeed in their chosen profession. The CPA Track includes an additional six credits in the form of study labs, taken concurrently with master’s courses, that help prepare students for their CPA licensure exam. Offered completely online, the CPA prep labs are convenient for everyone.
Post University has begun enrolling students in its new online Master of Science in Accounting CPA Track program now. Interested candidates should contact the Post University Admissions Team at 800.582.8250 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
