Medtech Adds Online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing/RN-BSN Degree
INDIANAPOLIS – With the National Institute of Medicine recommending that 80 percent of nurses should have baccalaureate degrees by 2020 (The Future of Nursing: Focus on Education, October 2010), Medtech has launched its first online program. The healthcare career education provider now offers an online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing/RN-BSN degree program as an addition to its Practical Nursing and Associate Degree in Nursing programs.
An education and continuing professional development provider committed to advancing healthcare career training, Medtech is addressing emerging community health needs through its new nursing program – currently enrolling candidates in the District of Columbia and nine states – Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Virginia.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is an important consideration for nursing students because it typically is required for nurse administrator positions in many hospitals. Additionally, NursingLicensure.org reports an increasing number of hospitals today are recruiting only nurses with BSNs.
“Medtech’s online program is the next step for our nursing graduates and RNs in several states,” said Medtech President Bobby Reese. “Through its online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing/RN-BSN program, Medtech offers RNs the flexibility to maintain a regular work schedule while continuing online their studies for advanced career opportunities.”
“Tailored to working nurses interested in continued growth and advancement, the program is of particular interest to hospitals and clinics with registered nurses on staff, but need BSNs to fill their leadership positions,” Reese added.
The program encompasses advanced nursing concepts that enable prospective nurse leaders to enhance critical thinking aptitudes and develop the leadership and management skills required of today’s senior nursing professionals. According to Reese, it will produce advanced nursing candidates who can contribute to the community by filling evolving healthcare needs.
Medtech’s online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing/RN-BSN program is enrolling qualified candidates now for its next program start in April.
