FORTIS COLLEGE IN ORANGE PARK TO HOLD GRADUATION JANUARY 20
ORANGE PARK, Fla. – For approximately 100 students from Fortis College in Orange Park, Friday, January 20, will be a momentous day. It’s the day they graduate, prepared to launch new careers and a new phase of their lives.
The campus’s graduation ceremony (1 p.m.) will be held at the University of North Florida’s Adam W. Herbert University Center, 12000 Alumni Drive in Jacksonville. Fortis College-Orange Park Surgical Technology graduate Joshua Browder (July 2015) will deliver the commencement address.
A dynamic, professional mentor and teacher, Browder has achieved career success as a Robotic Tech Coordinator at Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville. And, as the son of Naval parents who served as a Navy Corpsman in Afghanistan himself, Browder is especially looking forward to the portion of the ceremony when several veteran graduates will be awarded special red, white, and blue cords.
“We will have a number of veterans among our student graduates…most of them also having spent time in the Navy,” said campus President Wyman Dickey. “We take great pride in serving those who served us by giving them special recognition during our graduation celebrations.”
Due to Hurricane Matthew, Fortis College-Orange Park’s planned October graduation ceremony was re-scheduled for January.
“Although their celebration may have been delayed, our students worked hard for this achievement and they deserve to be recognized,” Dickey added. “Congratulations to one and all.”
