FOLEY, Ala. –– Fortis College in Foley is ringing in the New Year with two graduation ceremonies at the Foley Civic Center auditorium Friday, January 20. The 5:30 p.m. graduation will be for Allied Health day students, with a second ceremony at 7:30 p.m. for students attending evening Medical Assisting and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) classes.

In addition to diplomas and certificates, the campus will present select students with Community Service and Attendance Awards, and will recognize the class valedictorians and salutatorians.

“We’ve scheduled separate graduation ceremonies for two reasons,” said Campus Director Brenda Nash, “it’s more convenient for our day and evening students, plus, many students have extended families and friends who wish to celebrate with them. The two ceremonies ensure we have the room to accommodate all those wishing to attend.”

The Civic Center is located at 407 East Lauren Avenue in Foley (251-943-1546, ext. 173).

Students attend Fortis College in Foley to learn skills needed to obtain jobs in growing allied health and HVAC fields. The campus offers programs in HVAC and Medical Assisting, as well as continuing education classes in Phlebotomy. Students in the Medical Assistant program learn about office administration, clinical procedures and computer operations. The HVAC program prepares students with the skills to install and service climate control systems.
