Fortis College-Cuyahoga Falls Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Mayor to be Inducted into College’s Hall of Fame

Fortis College in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, will mark the campus’ 50th anniversary with a special celebration 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Riverfront Pavilion. (11 Riverfront Boulevard, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221)

The festivities begin at 6 p.m., followed by a Champagne Toast and Dinner at 6:30 p.m.

As part of the celebration, the six members of 2016’s Alumni Hall of Fame Class will be inducted into the elite group. This will be just the second class of inductees into the campus Hall of Fame.

Among the inductees is Don Walters, Mayor of Cuyahoga Falls and a graduate of Fortis College’s Electronics and Computer Technology program. Also attending the celebration will be Sen. Tom Sawyer (D-Akron) of Ohio Senate District 28. Sawyer is the ranking minority member of the Senate Education Committee and previously served on Ohio’s State Board of Education.

Other 2016 Hall of Fame inductees include Stefanie Schumacher (Medical Assisting), LaSaundra Worthey (Medical Billing and Coding), Angelica Chionchio (Dental Assisting), Chad Thompson (Computer Information Services), and Jasimine Vines (Nursing).
