Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino helped celebrate the opening of Anthony’s Coal-Fired Pizza at University Station in Westwood Monday.

The former Miami Dolphins QB, who’s an equity partner in the Florida-based chain of restaurants, took photos with young fans and schmoozed with Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich and former Pats tight end Christian Fauria.

When asked about Tom Brady and Deflategate, the 53-year-old answered diplomatically. “I never knew they tested footballs. That was news to me,” he said.

Across the room, Ninkovich, sporting a bushy beard, dined with his wife, Paige, and their almost-2-year-old daughter, Olivia. (They opted for a house salad, pizza, and coal-fired chicken wings.)

“I love this place,” said Ninkovich, who became a fan of Anthony’s while playing for the Dolphins in Miami. It was Fauria’s first visit, and he was impressed. “I would never order wings at a pizza joint, but these are exceptional,” he said.
