FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, a casual dining concept that uses authentic 800-degree coal-burning ovens to create “well done pizza,” will reach a major landmark later this month with the opening of its 50th location.

The restaurant brand, which includes founder/CEO Anthony Bruno and NFL Hall of Fame legend Dan Marino among several equity partners, debuted in 2002 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and has expanded throughout Florida and into New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Delaware.

The newest Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza will open Tuesday, Sept. 29, in North Miami. The restaurant is located at 1837 NE 123rd Street inside Causeway Square, off 123rd Street just east of Biscayne Boulevard.

“I’m incredibly proud of this milestone and our continued success,” Bruno said. “We opened the first Anthony’s 13 years ago with a commitment to quality and authenticity. We’ve stuck to those values as we’ve grown, which I strongly believe is the reason our loyal fans have been so supportive.”

Those fans can participate in the excitement by sharing their 50th Celebration photos and videos on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #CoalFired50. Or they can visit www.acfp.com/CoalFired50. Weekly prizes will be awarded for the best submissions.

Hours of operation for the North Miami location will be 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. In addition to dining in, patrons can carry out by calling 305-889-8887.

Known for its high energy atmosphere and simple menu, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza uses 800-degree coal-burning ovens to create a “well done” taste. With a focus on fresh ingredients and authentic recipes, Anthony’s signature menu includes traditional and specialty pizzas with dough made fresh daily; coal oven roasted chicken wings; large homemade meatballs from a recipe passed down by Anthony’s grandmother; a classic Italian salad with original dressing; and Eggplant Marino (Dan’s favorite).

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza was voted Best Pizzeria, Best Wings, Best Meatballs and Best Service in the 2014 Sun Sentinel/SouthFlorida.com Best of South Florida readers’ poll, and has been chosen Best Pizza by the Miami Herald, Miami.com, Palm Beach Post and WFLA’s iHeart Tampa Bay. The brand was featured in the New York Times, has received rave reviews from Newsday, and was declared “The Best Pizza Chain in America” by USA Today’s Great American Bites.

Anthony’s food and service continually are ranked “very good to excellent” by Zagat Survey, the distinguished dining and entertainment ratings guide, and is voted “Top Pizza” and “Most Popular” in Zagat’s America’s Top Restaurants edition.
